Squadrats vs Veloturf
Squadrats is the tile-hunting app most riders start on: connect your rides, collect one-mile squares, grow your Yard and Übersquadrat, and see where you stand on a global leaderboard.
Veloturf is the friends-vs-friends layer on the same grid. Nothing to re-collect — it reads the same rides — but every square is now held by whoever rides it most, can be stolen, and resets each month. Companion, not replacement: keep collecting on Squadrats, fight over them here.

WHO SHOULD USE WHICH
Use Squadrats if…
you want the collector's game: lifetime totals, sub-tiles, a mobile app and a route planner that shows you which squares are still missing. It is the better tool for exploring on your own.
Use Veloturf if…
you have a friend, a group chat or a club and you want the squares to mean something between you. Share one link, ride, and watch the map change colour when someone steals a square. Most riders use both.

Common questions
Do I need a Squadrats account?
No. Veloturf works on its own — sign in with Strava or Google and it builds your squares from your rides.
Will Veloturf import my Squadrats history?
No, and it doesn't need to. Both tools read the same GPS rides, so the squares you hold on Squadrats are the squares you start with here.
Is Veloturf made by Squadrats?
No. Veloturf is an independent project and is not affiliated with Squadrats.
